Material Characteristics
The post-weld material is a composite carbide alloy material with good wear resistance, medium impact resistance and strong spalling resistance; the post-weld material is not suitable for flame cutting, cannot be machined, and there are fine stress cracks on the surface.
1.Microstructure: Austenitic chromium-manganese steel;Alloy Type:C-Cr-Mo-Fe2.Processing performance: only support sanding     
3.Cutting performance: does not support flame cutting4.Surfacing thickness: supports multi-layer surfacing,Overlay thicknesses up to 30-50 mm


Applications
Ideally suited for hardfacing parts subjected to a high degree of wear and general impact. For example: coal mill rolls, grinding discs and other wear-resistant layer applications. The application temperature range does not exceed 500°C.

Welding Precautions

1. When using RD-698 wire, do not use inert gas, and take care to control the current and voltage according to the recommended overlay welding parameters.


2. The overlay layer will have normal fine stress relief cracks, which will help to prevent the occurrence of large-scale spalling of the overlay layer.


3. Before surfacing, please pay attention to removing ash, oil, rust and corrosion in the area to be welded.


4. Oscillating and linear welding are available, can be overlaid with multiple layers, the performance of the alloy layer is related to the dilution rate of the overlaid welding.


5. Preheating can reduce stress cracks.
